Dr. Adriana Brune
Board Certified Dermatologist
Dr. Adriana Brune is a board-certified dermatologist who has over 35 years of experience as a physician. She received her medical doctor degree in 1987 from Universidad Nacional De Tucuman, Argentina, where she grew up. She had 4 years of experience as a board-certified pediatrician in California before completing a research fellowship in pediatric dermatology at Children’s Hospital at Northwestern University. Then she went on to complete her residency training in Dermatology at Oklahoma University Health Sciences Center. During her career, she has had extensive training and experience in surgical dermatology.
After moving to Corvallis in 2008, she affiliated with Western University of Health Sciences to teach residents and medical students about dermatology, her passion.
After opening Brune Dermatology in Corvallis in 2010, she continued teaching, not only the medical providers, but also the community about skin care and skin cancer prevention. Since she opened her private practice, she has continued providing free skin cancer outreach clinics, as well as volunteering to teach the community.
Dr. Brune enjoys serving patients of all ages, ethnicities and beliefs. She takes satisfaction in educating and empowering each patient.
In her free time, she takes pleasure in spending time with her family, gardening, being outdoors and dancing modern dance.
Dr. Carrick Burns
Mohs Surgeon & Board Certified Dermatologist
Raised in Newport, Oregon, Dr. Burns spent 20 years living and working around the world, and he is honored to be back in his home state serving fellow Oregonians.
Dr. Burns graduated from University of Washington with a degree in Bioengineering. After completing medical school at Tulane University, he spent 12 years on active duty in the US Navy. Highlights of his military career include serving as a Naval Flight Surgeon with a Marine helicopter squadron, being the sole Navy Dermatologist in mainland Japan for three years, and teaching dermatology residents while faculty at Naval Medical Center San Diego. While in San Diego, he ran a large laser clinic and performed over 1,000 laser procedures a year.
After completing his military service, Dr. Burns completed a rigorous Mohs fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center, a global leader in cancer treatment and research. In addition to gaining experience treating the most challenging skin cancers, he was involved with clinical trials studying the next generation of cancer treatment, immunotherapy and targeted therapy, for locally advanced and unresectable skin cancers. He is thrilled to bring cutting-edge care to the Willamette Valley.
Dr. Burns practices full scope dermatology, including general, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology. His emphasis is on pragmatic, patient-centered, and evidence-based care. Although he loves all aspects of Dermatology, he has strong interests in skin cancer, lasers, scar management, and skin surgery. Dr. Burns is a passionate educator having been recognized with teaching awards, and he thoroughly enjoys helping patients understand their medical issues and developing effective treatment plans.
In his personal time, Dr. Burns enjoys managing toddlers (he is a father of three), exploring the great outdoors, traveling, and trying the wonderful food available throughout the state. After 20 years, he is happy to once again call Oregon home.
Nicole Wydra
Dermatology Certified Physician Assistant
Nicole graduated magna cum laude from Oregon State University with a bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Food Science in 2000. She went on to become a registered Dietitian and worked for a VA hospital, specializing in outpatient and inpatient dietetics. After several years she was inspired to return to school to further her education, with the goal of having a greater opportunity to help patients. She graduated from Loma Linda University with a Master’s degree of Physician Assistant in 2010. Yearning to return to her native Oregon, she accepted a position in Springfield Oregon, working with an endovascular neurosurgeon for over 4 years. In 2015 her path continued to grow as she was fortunate enough to start here at Brune Dermatology and has worked for and learned from Dr. Adriana Brune since then.
Nicole loves Oregon and everything it has to offer. She is passionate about protecting the environment and all the worlds’ creatures.
Mikki Sharpe
Licensed Advanced Esthetician
Mikki Sharpe has 15 years of experience in the medical field as a Licensed Advanced Esthetician and CMA. Her Medical Assisting experience began in 2007, working with several doctors in both Dermatology and Urology. Mikki became interested in the Cosmetic aspect of Dermatology in 2011. Her main focus of work is on Aesthetic Laser Treatments. She is also a Clinical Applications Trainer for Cutera lasers and travels all across the country to train practitioners on various Aesthetic devices. She stays up to date on new products and procedures with continuing education in Medical Aesthetics. She enjoys connecting with her patients and is dedicated to making sure they experience the highest level of service along with the best possible results.
